How to Properly Document and Capture a Space with DocuSketch
A common mistake in DocuSketch is taking just one capture from the center of a room and assuming it covers everything. It doesn't. The lens can only capture what it can see, and furniture like beds, islands, and large cabinets will block the view on either side.
The Fix: Multiple Capture Points
Using a bedroom as an example, one capture from the center leaves both sides of the bed undocumented. Instead, take three:
- One capture from the side of the bed.
- One capture from the foot of the bed.
- One capture from the opposite side of the bed.
Three positions, full coverage, nothing missed.
The Takeaway
Think about what the lens can and can't see from where you're standing. Any time a large object is blocking part of the room, add a capture point. A few extra shots take seconds and ensures your tour is complete.
