How to Set Up Your DocuSketch Tripod
Loss site capture set up might seem straightforward, but a small setup mistake can quietly throw off your accuracy. And accurate documentation is what gets the policyholder back in their home as efficiently as possible.
DocuSketch Tripod Setup in Three Steps
- Pull the tripod down and connect the two white arrows. Line them up and lock them together. This is your starting point.
- Pull out the legs and secure the last two points. Make sure each leg is stable before moving on.
- Set your camera height, then clamp it down fully. Once you've positioned the camera at the right height, tighten the bottom clamp all the way.
The Most Common Mistake when Setting Up the DocuSketch Tripod
Underestimating the bottom base clamp.
Make sure you tighten it correctly. Actions such as picking the camera up, setting it down, or moving room to room with an unsecure clamp will cause a shift. Even a small shift changes the lens height. And lens height directly affects measurement accuracy.
This applies whether you're using the newer DS camera or the older SC2. Neither is immune to an under-tightened clamp.
The Takeaway
- Two white arrows connected.
- Legs secured.
- Bottom clamp tightened all the way down.
Do those three things consistently and your tripod will help you get accurate documentation every time.
