What's the Fastest Way to Capture a DocuSketch Tour: Single Shot or Timelapse?
If you're trying to move through a job site quickly, time-lapse mode is your best friend, and a two-step technique makes it even faster.
Why Time-Lapse?
DocuSketch has two capture modes: singleshot and time-lapse. In singleshot, both lenses fire simultaneously. In time-lapse, the front lens fires first, then the back lens. Through testing, we’ve found that letting the lenses fire in sequence — front, then back — is actually the fastest way to capture a full space.
The Two-Step Process
- Hit capture. Your front lens fires and captures the forward view.
- Take two quick steps forward. The back lens fires, capturing the rear view and you've already moved out of frame.
That's it. By stepping forward immediately after the front lens fires, you clear the shot before the back lens goes off.
The Result
A fully captured space in the time it takes to walk a couple of steps. Simple, fast, and repeatable across every room on a job.
